Transporting Pets and Animals by Aircraft

Not all airlines allow cats, dogs or birds to be carried on board. Passengers wishing to carry pets should select appropriate airlines. Along with vaccinations and health certificates for their pets, they should also contact the Animal Quarantine Authority of the destination country through the airlines to ensure that their pets are cleared for travel. Carrying pets requires special cages and the rules for transporting pets vary by airlines.

Importation of Pets and Animals from Abroad

For importation of pets from abroad, application must be made in the Human Resource Development Wing of the Livestock Department's web portal www.dls.gov.bd. The passenger must apply along with the pet's health certificate, pet’s photographs, and vaccine card issued by the veterinary surgeon or specialist of the country from which the passenger is coming to Bangladesh.
